How do I apply for a place at Weston House
What you will need to do:
Firstly, contact our admissions team to register your interest in joining Weston House.
You can do this in a number of ways:
What we will do:
- Our admissions team will contact you to arrange a suitable time for you to visit Weston House to meet the team and have a look around our facilities
- Following your initial visit, we will arrange a suitable time for an assessment interview with some members of our team to find out about you and your needs
- Before an offer of a placement is made, Weston House will then invite you to undertake a 2 night residential stay to complete our full assessment. We do this to check we are the right place for you and we can meet all of your education/training and care support needs
How will I pay for a residential place at Weston House?
There are a number of funding pathways available to anyone wishing to apply for our Specialist FE Residential placement.
This can be through us receiving a referral from Careers Wales, your Local Authority or privately funded placements.
This is completed by you or your parent/carer by speaking to your Careers Advisor who will discuss your funding options and the application procedure. The Welsh Government Securing Provision for Young People with Learning Difficulties at Specialist Further Education Establishments document can be found here.
Your Local Authority
We welcome applications from your Local Authority/Social Worker. Bespoke funding quotes are available on request from our admissions team (please note that pre-assessment procedures on our ability to meet individuals education and training needs do not differ from those for publicly funded placements).
Privately funded placements
Applications for privately funded placements are welcome. Please note that we follow the same process to ensure we can meet the learner’s identified education / training and their care support needs as we do for publicly funded placements.
