Top national award for Bridgend College Day Nursery
Congratulations to staff at our Day Nursery for being awarded a ‘Top 20 Recommended Nursery 2020’ Award recently!
The daynurseries.co.uk Top 20 Nursery Awards 2020 highlight the most recommended nurseries in each region of the UK, and the Top 20 Day Nursery Groups in the UK. This is based on over 50,000 published reviews between 1st April 2018 and 31st March 2020.
Lisa Dobbs, Day Nursery and Playscheme Manager said,
“We’re thrilled to receive this award! Our vision is to provide outstanding quality childcare and early years education that enables every child to be all that they can be. This award and the wonderful reviews from parents is testimony to this.”
Our Day Nursery and Playscheme was also inspected by Estyn earlier in the year. With six fantastic judgements of ‘Good’ in areas such as wellbeing, care and development, and environment, we were delighted with the outcome, which is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our nursery staff.
The Day Nursery provides a warm, happy and stimulating environment for children. This gives parents the reassurance that their child is in a positive environment which supports their learning and development. Children participate in a range of activities that promote wellbeing, communication and help develop confidence. Activities include messy play, forest school and access to qualified external guests who provide a breadth of opportunities for children. Children are provided with healthy meal and snack choices, as part of the commitment to the Welsh Government Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school Scheme.
The Nursery was refurbished in February this year, with the decor updated to create a calm and homely environment. Nursery staff have done a lot of work around independence across all age groups by introducing open shelving, allowing children to make choices and enhance their curiosity. Parents are able to take a virtual tour of the Nursery before requesting a visit.
The Nursery is open 7am – 6pm Monday to Friday for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
