Equine workshops

We are offering a number of equine workshops throughout March and April.

Aimed at amateurs and individuals who have a keen interest in equine, these short sessions will be delivered by industry professionals and cover a range of topics.

Horse care

Each two-hour session is £20 (including VAT). Three workshops can be booked at one time for £45 (including VAT).

Colic – causes and prevention

  • The types of colic
  • Causes, symptoms and treatments
  • The role of management in the prevention of colic

Equine skeletal anatomy

  • The skeleton of the equine
  • Evolution and the equine compared to the human skeleton
  • Specialist features of the equine skeleton
  • The equine skeleton in ridden work

The rider’s aids – riding dressage movements

  • How to communicate with the horse through the use of seat, hands and legs
  • Natural and artificial aids
  • The application of aids
  • Aids for movements including basic lateral movements (leg yield and shoulder in)
