Bridgend College Equine Horse Management learners took part in the National Inter-College Competition at Warwickshire College 5th April.
We are extremely pleased to say that the Level 3 Extended Diploma team won and the Level 3 Diploma team gained 5th place. The competition entailed dressage, showjumping and a tightly fought quiz phase. The winning Extended Diploma 2nd year team were: Jessica Fisher, Rachel Brookes, Carley Jones, Rhiann Stevens and Bridie Adams . The first year level 3 team were: Hannah Dingle, Elen Williams, Elise Mattingley, Chelsea Clarke and Bethany Chatham. The students competed against several strong English colleges including Shuttleworth and Warwickshire.
The event was really won during a tie break where our learner, Rhiann Stevens, had to assemble a bridle blindfolded – well done Rhiann.
We are proud to have received the very rare double ‘excellent’ in our Estyn inspection. This award reflects the dedication, innovation and passion of our learners, staff, governors and partners. We are extremely pleased that the high quality of our performance has been recognised in the awards gifted to the college.
