One of our learners recently made it through to the final of the Advanced Restaurant Service Skills Competition Wales, which was held in Llanduduno over two days on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th February 2018.

Alys Pritchard won overall SILVER in the final of the competition and was entered into two categories for the Welsh International Culinary Championships 2018. She achieved Gold in the Battle of the Dragons challenge and silver and bronze in the Major Restaurant Skills challenge for her main course and desert. She also earned a Certificate of Merit.

The judge also commented that Alys had a great deal of potential and that he’d be willing to mentor her if she was to enter in the World Skills Competition. Well done Alys – definitely a name to watch for the future!

Also taking part in the Advanced Restaurant Service Skills Competition Wales with Alys were Bridgend College learners Ryan Blake and Nathan Clatworthy. Both are pictured below with Alys at the Regional which was held at Pembrokeshire College.
