Our full-time courses enable you to gain hands-on practical skills and underpinning knowledge within our on-site salons. We have highly qualified and specialised lecturers who are active practitioners within their field of expertise.

This course is run over 3 days a week with one late evening commercial session.

You will learn how to:

  • Creatively style and dress hair
  • Cut hair using a combination of techniques
  • Colour and lighten hair
  • Provide client consultation services
  • Create a variety of permed effects
  • Provide hair colour correction services

You will also develop your literacy, numeracy, ICT and presentation skills.

The awarding body for this qualification is City & Guilds.

Assessment by online exams, projects, assignments and practical assessments.

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Merit at Level 2
  • Progression from Level 2 NVQ or 3 years’ experience in the industry

Opportunity to work in hair salons, television and the theatre industry. Progression to Level 2 Barbering or Level 2 Hair & Media Makeup.
