Aims of the course

Understand the importance of the Welsh language in Wales

  • Explain the importance of the Welsh language to Wales.
  • Summarise recent legislative developments which promote the Welsh language in Wales.

Understand how businesses use the Welsh language

  • Identify businesses in a chosen sector that use the Welsh language.
  • Explain the benefits of the Welsh language to a range of different types of businesses.
  • Create a plan as to how the language could be used within a business in Wales.

Understand practical applications of using the Welsh language in business

  • Justify choice of methods to be used by a business to develop the Welsh language usage.
  • Produce an action plan for the company / business on how to develop bilingualism within the business.
  • Prepare a range of resources to help develop bilingualism within a company / business, relevant to the chosen sector.
  • Produce an action plan for the company / business on how to develop bilingualism within the business.

Assessment

Ongoing assessment with evidence of achieving the aims of the course.
