Aims of the course
Be able to create or use an existing plan to produce a website
Produce a plan which:
- Shows the proposed general page layout
- Proposes colours (including page background colours or images, text styles/sizes and image content)
- Clearly demonstrates how visitors will navigate from one page to the other
Be able to create the website using HTML editing software
- Set up an electronic folder to store web pages and source files
- Insert a background colour or background
- Use ‘web safe’ fonts
- Use different font sizes and font colours
- Incorporate photos and / or graphics
- Create navigation hyperlinks which enable visitors to browse from one page to another
- Create an image-based graphic hyperlink
- Create a hyperlink to another website
- Create an email hyperlink
Be able to develop a website to a publishable standard
- Save and test a website in an appropriate manner in preparation for publication
- Make changes if required
- Publish a website or save on portable media
Assessment
Ongoing assessment with evidence of achieving the aims of the course.
