Reflective practice in youth and community settings

This course will provide you will look at working collectively within communities and the role of individuals in community groups. It will outline knowledge and skills relating to reflective practice in a youth work setting.

Course topics include:

  • Understand why people get involved in community activities
  • Understand working collectively in communities
  • Know roles taken by people in community groups
  • Understand the principles of reflective practice in youth work
  • Be able to use reflective practice in youth work

Portfolio-based assessment.

You must have access to a real work environment.

Completing this course may be a stepping stone to further study and progression within the care sector.

The course will use a range of camera settings and features found in the programme, aperture and shutter modes. These modes will open a new dimension to your photography and will demonstrate the endless potential of creative photography.

As well as learning how and when to use the modes, you will develop your composition skill which is a key element in photography. The course will also include transferring images to a computer and using a selection of photography editing techniques.

Portfolio-based assessment.

You will need a digital camera as the course is not suitable for camera phones or tablets.

Completing this course may be a stepping stone to further study and progression within the care sector.
