If you want to develop your skills in acting, singing, dancing and music, then this course is for you! You will develop your skills in purpose-built facilities including a theatre, dance and music studios and music technology suites. These are designed to make your learning environment as realistic as possible in preparation for a career within the music and performing arts industries.

Many of our students are accepted into prestigious theatre and performing arts colleges around the UK.

This exciting and popular course is designed to provide you with realistic and demanding training in all features of performance. Taught over 2 years, the course enables you to develop your interest in the performing arts: to explore, develop and test your creativity and to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to progress, whether into specialist training, higher education, or employment.

This course is structured into 3 main areas: technique, professional studies and rehearsal / performance. You will be introduced to a variety of acting, musical theatre and dance techniques in order to prepare you for your next step in your performing arts career.

Performance opportunities are built into the curriculum throughout the 2 years, ranging from informal, in-house presentations of work to full evening performances. Technical training and performance are combined with creative practice and intellectually-challenging theory and research. You will be encouraged to think critically about performance, enhancing your understanding of the industry and development as a performer and practitioner.

A key feature of the course is that assignments and assessments are linked into your practical work wherever possible. Assessments include performance making, presentations, online portfolios, reflections on practice, and workshop delivery, essays and reports.

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Merit at Level 2

Students who have completed this course at Level 3 have been highly successful in securing places at university and in specialist drama, dance and musical theatre colleges. These include RWCMD, Arts Ed, Bird College, Urdang, London Studio Centre, Laine Theatre Arts, Guildford School of Acting, Mountview, Trinity Laban, LAMDA, ALRA and many more.

Graduates go on to work in a wide variety of fields such as performance, creating work, project management, teaching, research and community arts.
