If you want to build your skills in acting, singing, dancing and music, then this course is for you! You will develop your skills in purpose-built facilities including a theatre, dance and music studios and music technology suites. These are designed to make your learning environment as realistic as possible in preparation for a career within the music and performing arts industries.

You will be involved in a wide range of performances throughout the academic year ranging from sold out Christmas pantomimes to musicals, plays and showcase performances during corporate events such as the College’s Annual Awards Ceremony and Graduation.

You will study within our vibrant Performing Arts Department which has excellent facilities and its own theatre. Past performances include pantomime, Theatre in Education, Film and Television and devised workshops. You may also have chances to be involved in projects with outside agencies such as ‘It’s My Shout’ and other professional companies. You will benefit from regular trips to the theatre and workshops which will build your confidence and skill level.

You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.

Examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.

3 GCSEs at grade D or above. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Pass at Level 1.

Progression onto a range of Level 2 / 3 courses in the Creative Industries subjects. Many students progressing from this course have gone on to become performers after further study at degree level.
