If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role, then you are legally required by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) (Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986) (as amended) to take this award qualification.
Unit PA1 is the mandatory foundation unit covering the relevant legislation. The unit PA6 involves the practical application of safe application via a knapsack applicator via a hydraulic nozzle or rotary atomiser type sprayers.
The qualifications have been specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of learners and employers who use pesticide application equipment in a wide range of circumstances. This qualification will allow you to apply pesticides on a commercial basis.
How will I be assessed?
- PA1 Principles of pesticide application is assessed by an online multiple choice (e-volve test)
- PA6 Application units are practically assessed with verbal one to one questioning
Entry requirements
Candidates must be aged 16 or above.
