PA1 0216-49 Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides

PA6 0216-54 Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pesticides Using Hand Held Equipment

If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role, then you are legally required by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) (Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986) (as amended) to take this award qualification.

Unit PA1 is the mandatory foundation unit covering the relevant legislation. The unit PA6 involves the practical safe application via a knapsack applicator with a hydraulic nozzle or rotary atomiser type sprayers.

The qualifications have been specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of students and employers who use pesticide application equipment in a wide range of circumstances. This qualification will allow you to apply pesticides on a commercial basis.

  • PA1 Principles of pesticide application is assessed by an online multiple choice (e-volve test)
  • PA6 Application units are practically assessed with verbal one to one questioning

Candidates must be aged 16 or above.

  • Tractor driving – agricultural and related operations
  • Tractor mounted spraying (pre-requisite PA1)
