Overview and modules
The Certificate helps them manage risks effectively and many people take the NEBOSH National General Certificate as a first step for a career in health and safety. It provides a valuable overview and is a sound basis for further professional study.
The course has 3 modules covering;
NGC1 – The Management of Health and Safety
GC2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards
GC3 – Practical Application
Assessment methods
Units NGC1 and GC2 are taught units, each assessed by a two-hour written examination.
Unit GC3 is assessed by a two-hour practical examination.

The qualification is suitable for managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues.
Continue your studies
For those wishing to study at a higher level, you may progress to the NEBOSH Diploma or Masters qualification.
