If you want to build your skills in acting, singing, dancing and music, then this course is for you! You will develop your skills in purpose-built facilities including a theatre, dance and music studios and music technology suites. These are designed to make your learning environment as realistic as possible in preparation for a career within the music and performing arts industries.
Many of our students are accepted into prestigious theatre and performing arts colleges around the UK.
Overview and modules
You will develop music skills for performance as well as knowledge and experience in music technology, music theory and business.
You will be taught by industry professionals who will help guide you through your learning and development. You will be encouraged to collaborate as well as work independently on a variety of musical project and performances.
You will study a variety of areas within the industry:
- Music rehearsal styles
- Live music performance
- Music sequencing
- Studio recording
- Music theory
- Instrumental studies
- Songwriting techniques
You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.

Assessment methods
In the first two weeks of September all students are assessed on performance, music theory and academic writing to determine which level they will be on.
Throughout the course, you will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include assignments, performances, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Merit at Level 2.
Continue your studies
Successful completion of the first year of Level 3 will enable you to progress to the second year and achieve the full Extended Diploma.
On successful completion of the second year of Level 3, progression can include the Foundation Degree in Music Production, other higher education courses or employment within the industry.
