Learners will be required to demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to design energy-efficient low-temperature central heating and hot water systems. This qualification also acts as a prerequisite entry requirement for those learners wishing to undertake an air/ground source heat pump qualification.

*This course is being supported by PLA funding and is fully funded if you meet the following criteria;

  • You are over 19 years of age
  • You live in Wales
  • You earn no more than £29,534 Gross
  • You are not actively doing any other training supported by PLA (individuals can only embark on one PLA funded course at a time)
  • You are not currently completing a Higher Education or apprenticeship program

This course will provide you with the following skills:

  • Know the requirements of relevant Regulations, Standards, and Guidance relating to domestic low-temperature hot water heating systems and hot water supply
  • Know how to calculate the heat loss from a dwelling for low-temperature hot water heating design
  • Learn how to calculate the hot water requirements of a dwelling
  • Learn how to size and select heat emitters for low-temperature hot water heating systems
  • Learn how to correctly size low-temperature hot water heating systems in dwellings
  • Learn how to design low-temperature hot water heating systems for dwellings

Learners will be required to take a multiple-choice test and complete a written assessment.

This qualification is for those learners currently employed in the plumbing and domestic heating industry providing them with the necessary training to develop their existing skills.

Learners will be required to demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to design energy-efficient low-temperature central heating and hot water systems. This qualification also acts as a prerequisite entry requirement for those learners wishing to undertake an air/ground source heat pump qualification.

Learners may progress to the BPEC Level 3 Award in Air Source Heat Pumps or Ground Source Heat Pumps qualifications
Successful completion of this qualification proves that learners are able to design energy-efficient low-temperature central heating and hot water systems and therefore will extend career opportunities in the emerging technologies field.

Upon completion of both levels, you will have learnt all of the basic skills required to work as a dog groomer. It is important to practice and perfect your skills, either by completing the Level 2 City and Guilds Dog Grooming course or through work placement within the industry.

Whilst the start time of the course is fixed, the end time may vary depending on the amount of homework / research given, and also to ensure all dogs are comfortable.

An Agored Cymru certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course.

You should have access to at least 3 dogs of various coat types for the purpose of bathing and preparation. When run over 15 weeks, you are required to bring in 6 different dogs of varying coat type.

Please note, Dog Grooming Levels 2 & 3 can be offered on block as a 15 week course, In which case, you are required to book for the 2 levels prior to commencing the course.
