The Level 5 Leadership of Health and Social Care Services – Adults Residential Management is suitable for Care Managers, Deputy Managers and Assistant Managers who work with adults in a residential setting and whose main role is adult care and support, and are wishing to gain a vocational qualification in the field of care.
The Level 5 Leadership of Health and Social Care Services – Adults Management is suitable for care managers, deputy and assistant managers who work with adults in a non-residential setting and whose main role is adult care and support, and wishing to gain a vocational qualification in the field of care.
In order to achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care, you are required to complete units which consist of a combination of both mandatory and optional units. Units are either knowledge and understanding or competence (a combination of knowledge, understanding and skills). Each unit has been given a credit value and in order to obtain the full diploma, you must complete units which equate to a minimum of 90 credits. The units are divided into three groups:
Group A: Consists of 12 mandatory units which equate to a total of 52 credits
Group B: Optional Units – you complete optional units based on your experience and must complete a minimum of 12 credits from this group
Group C: Optional Competence Units
You are required to complete units from the options available, based on your job description and the requirements of your role.
The remaining 26 credits can be achieved by completing units from groups B 0r C.
Teaching and learning is tailored to individual needs and requirements involving individual study and research with support and guidance provided by your assessor.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments are carried out to meet both competency and knowledge requirements and involve observation of working practices within a care environment, along with written work.

Continue your studies
These qualifications will enable you to gain a vocational qualification within the field of care at Level 5.
