Safe Use of Brush Cutters and Strimmers

  • 1 day, 9 am – 5 pm

Our novice training course is for anyone employed in the agriculture, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance industry and currently operates, or will be required to operate a brushcutter or strimmer.

Please note, this course is physical so you must be fit and able to carry out the tasks required within the course.

Modules include:

  • Carrying out a risk assessment
  • Health and safety legislation which underpins trimmer and brushcutter operations
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment for trimmer and brushcutter operations
  • Health and safety features of the equipment being used
  • Maintaining the trimmer/brushcutter
  • Operating a trimmer/brushcutter
  • Understanding different operating techniques
  • Storing equipment safely and appropriately

Integrated assessment.

You must be aged 16 or above.

Enhance your skill set with:

  • Dry stone walling
  • Hedgelaying
  • Chainsaw maintenance
