By studying hospitality, you will benefit from training within our on-site restaurant which caters for staff, students and external visitors. This enables you to undertake hospitality roles in a realistic working environment on a daily basis, including food preparation and silver service.
This course will enable you to develop your skills and knowledge to progress into or within employment and/ or continue your studies within this vocational area.
Overview and modules
Modules include:
- Practical skills, knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry including food preparation, cooking and service
- Customer care
- Food safety
- Health and safety
- Principles and benefits of good customer service in catering and hospitality
You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.
Assessment methods
You will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.
Entry requirements
- 2 GCSEs at grade D or above
Continue your studies
Completion of all aspects of the Level 1 programme will allow you to progress to the Level 2 in Professional Cookery.
Career progression opportunities include employment in a variety of sectors related to hospitality and the catering industry.
