About
The qualification is achieved through a mix of learning in the workplace, formal off the job training (at college) and the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real work context. On completion, you must be able to undertake the full range of duties, appropriate to your job, confidently and competently to the standard set by the Industry.

Overview & Modules
The Horticulture Apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to carry out your job role and support future progression within the sector. You will be employed and receive at least the minimum apprenticeship wage, attend college on a day release basis and should achieve the Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework within the agreed timescale.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture
- Essential Skills Wales Communication Level 2
- Essential Skills Wales Application of Number Level 2
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
This apprenticeship reflects the range of jobs within Horticulture and job roles would include Deputy Head Greenkeeper, Groundsman, Gardener or Landscaper.
These programmes are part financed by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be made through coursework, assignments, work-based observations and work-based evidence and online tests.
Entry requirements
All applicants must be in employment which supports the requirements of the qualification and have completed one of the following qualifications or similar if approved by the Training Provider:
- Level 2 Diploma in Work-Based Horticulture
- Level 2 NVQ in Amenity/Production Horticulture
- Welsh Baccalaureate
- 5 GCSEs (A*-C) / A levels
Continue your studies
After successfully completing the Level 3 Apprenticeship, you can progress onto Higher Education courses such as HNC Horticulture.
