Overview & Modules
You will gain practical hands on experience working and learning about a variety of stable management topics, and how to work with horses in a safe and efficient way. There will be dedicated practical stable duties on the college equine yards.
Subjects will include:
- Feeding and watering horses
- Grooming and washing
- Rugs and tack
- Stable duties
You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.
There is an option to improve your ride skills on this course and you will have the opportunity to train towards BHS qualifications.
How will I be assessed?
Practical and written assessments throughout the year.
Entry requirements
- You should have basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete this qualification
- You will attend an interview with the course tutor
Continue your studies
Following successful completion, progress to Level 2 Extended Certificate/Diploma in Horse Care.
