1.48 million people currently work in the social care sector. As people are living longer and older people are needing more care, social care is growing and the sector needs at least another half a million jobs and staff by 2030.
Studying at Level 2, you will benefit from work placement which is a great opportunity to experience working within an existing organisation and see what happens in an actual workplace.
Overview and modules
You will develop your understanding and knowledge of Health and Social Care.
Modules may include:
- Individual needs in health and social care
- Communication
- Ensuring safe environments in health and social care
- Human lifespan development
- The impact of diet on health
You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.
Assessment methods
You will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.
Entry requirements
3 GCSEs at Grade C or above to include English or Maths (alternative equivalent qualifications may be accepted).
Continue your studies
After completion of this course there will be opportunity to progress to Level 3.
Following successful completion of a Level 3 course, possible careers include nursing, midwifery, health or care sectors.
