Overview & Modules
You will learn
- Health and safety in the hairdressing salon
- Advise and consult with clients
- Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp
- Change hair colour, style and finish hair
- Set and dress hair
- Cut hair using basic techniques
- How to give a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
- Promote additional services or products to clients
You will also develop your literacy, numeracy, ICT and presentation skills.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include assignments, external examinations, on-line global examinations and continual practical assessments.
Entry requirements
- 3 GCSEs at grade D or above (equivalent qualifications are accepted including a Pass at Level 1)
- You will need to attend an interview
This course is aimed at learners aged 18+. You will be required to purchase a training kit, training heads and a uniform.
Continue your studies
You will be able to progress onto full time Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing.
You could get the opportunity to work in hairdressing salons, spas, beauty salons or television and theatre.
