Overview & Modules
The course aims to give you a comprehensive introduction to the skills needed to embark on a career within fashion and textiles. It will allow you to develop creative and practical techniques in studios and specialist workshops. You will reflect the day-to-day reality of the fashion and textile industry through project-based briefs and scenarios.
Throughout the course, you will undertake:
Visual studies including life drawing, colour theory, fashion design, illustration and observational drawing
Contextual studies covering contemporary and historical issues in art and design, fashion promotion and professional practice
Technical skills such as fabric printing, hand and machine sewing, garment construction and pattern cutting

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways, which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.
5 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English and Maths (equivalent qualifications are accepted including a Merit at Level 2)
Continue your studies
On successful completion of Year 1, you will achieve the Level 3 Diploma. On successful completion of Year 2, you will achieve the Level 3 Extended Diploma.
Progression from the Level 3 Extended Diploma can include Higher Education, specialist training or working within the industry.
