Entry Level Certificate
1 year full-time
Our courses will help develop your personal and social skills and gain confidence to become more independent. Future job roles include working as a volunteer or in supported or unsupported employment such as kitchen / cafe assistant, pet shop / garden assistant or porter.
You will be taught in small groups by a dedicated team of highly experienced staff. Our Specialist Support department offers help and support to you if you have an additional need or a disability such as sight loss, dyslexia or hearing loss.
Overview and modules
This course is suitable if you are a school leaver or young person with learning difficulties who needs to develop your skills and confidence in a supported setting.
Successful completion of the course should enable you to demonstrate that you have the personal skills, qualities and attitudes needed by employers or tutors enabling you to progress to the next academic level.
You will also undertake work related activities which will enable you to develop your employability and team skills.

The awarding body for this qualification is City & Guilds.
Assessment methods
You will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.
Entry requirements
This programme is offered to school leavers and young adults with mild to moderate learning difficulties. Places on the course are allocated subject to receiving suitable references from a previous educational establishment and attending an interview.
As demand for places is high, we arrange a ‘transition session’ to ensure we have the right course for the right individual.
