This course is designed to support a range of technical and management careers in electrical or electronic engineering. It is supported by many local employers and you can top up your qualifications to a BSc (Hons) degree with additional part-time study.

Core modules may include:

  • Electronics 2
  • Energy storage and distribution
  • Business and safety
  • Group project
  • Power, machines and power electronic devices
  • Concepts of analogue and digital communications

Assessment is based on a mix of in-course assignments, written assignments and formal examinations, as well as preparing and delivering presentations to develop communication skills.

HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering

You can use the HND Electrical & Electronic Engineering to progress to a higher level course at the university such as BSc (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Students with exceptional achievement may progress to the BEng (Hons) Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

This campus is home to an extensive range of subject areas: Land-based, Construction, Sport and Public Services along with our STEAM Academy for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. Located on the outskirts of the village of Pencoed, this campus also offers local amenities and transport links within easy reach.
