  • Half day, 9 am - 12.30 pm

There are currently over 850,000 people in the UK living with Dementia, and numbers are increasing year on year.

This course is aimed as an introduction for care workers and has a special focus on Alzheimer’s disease, which is the greatest cause of dementia worldwide.

Topics include:

  • What is dementia?
  • Statistics
  • Signs and types of dementia
  • Diagnosis
  • Legislation
  • The importance of a CARE plan
  • What a dementia experience is like

Note, this qualification is valid for 1 year.

There will be a multiple-choice test at the end of the session.

This course is aimed at those working within the care sector.

This course enables carers and staff in a care environment to be made aware of the effects of dementia on the service users and how to help manage them to the benefit of the affected person.
