You will study at our state-of-the art STEAM Academy at Pencoed Campus.

  • Level 3 Extended Diploma

  • 2 years full-time

The Creative industries sector is fast moving, innovative and exciting. If you love to be creative then this course could be the springboard to your career. You will benefit from industry-standard resources including purpose built studios, workshops and recording suites.

You will develop your knowledge of media practices and work on realistic commercial projects and gain a number of practical skills.

You will learn the theory and practical skills needed for a career in the media industry.

Units include:

  • Film and video editing
  • Production management
  • Music video production
  • Camera skills
  • Digital graphics for print
  • Animation
  • Web design
  • Radio production

The course will also involve you working on client-based projects and professional briefs. You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills.

You will be assessed in a variety of ways, which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.

5 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Merit at Level 2.

On successful completion of Year 1 of the Level 3 course, you will achieve the Level 3 Diploma. On successful completion of Year 2, you will achieve the Level 3 Extended Diploma.

Progress to higher education on into employment.
