Overview & Modules
All activities are carried out in our state-of-the-art Construction Academy, with theory work being a mix of classroom and assignment activities.
Topics include:
- Built environment and the community
- Science of materials and their application
- Construction technology and design
- Construction operations
- Construction science
- Construction mathematics
- Construction drawing
- Construction applications
You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment by various methods including formal class meetings, tutorials, assignments and project work along with phase tests and end tests. There is also a work experience placement as part of the course.
Entry requirements
- 3 GCSEs at grade D or above (equivalent qualifications are accepted including a Pass at Level 1)
- All applicants will attend an interview
Continue your studies
Progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment.
Work in the construction industry as a Trainee Site Technician, Trainee Surveyor or Trainee Architectural Technician, Building Services or Quantity surveying.
