This is an ideal course if you are looking to become an architect, building surveyor, construction manager, civil engineer, quantity surveyor or any other professional or technician career pathway within the construction sector.

Construction is an important global industry offering a diverse range of career pathways in civil engineering, building services engineering, design/architecture and construction supervision/management. In the UK, qualified construction technicians, managers and professionals are highly sought after, with a growing demand for professionals to plan, lead and manage low-carbon and sustainable building projects in an efficient, cost-effective way.

  • Construction Technology
  • Health and Safety in Construction
In Year 2, students can follow either a Civil Engineering or a Building Services Engineering pathway.

The course is assessed through a combination of coursework activities (both individual and group exercises), practical work assignments, exams and case studies. All units are assessed and graded, with an overall grade awarded for the qualification.

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Merit at Level 2.

Progress to higher education study to enhance work opportunities as an architect, building surveyor, construction manager, civil engineer, quantity surveyor or any other professional or technician career pathway within the construction sector.
