CMI Level 5 Certificate – Management and Leadership
About
The Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership is a more extensive qualification than the CMI Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management. It gives you a broader knowledge of leadership skills while focusing on the specific management areas appropriate to you, and, your workplace. The course duration for the Level 5 Certificate is six months. Students will be provided with Affiliate membership of the CMI through until the completion of their studies.

Overview & Modules
You will complete at least 121 TUT units two of which we suggest are Principles of operational leadership and management in an organisational context and Using reflective practice to inform personal and professional development. However, these can be changed if an organisation has a group of delegates.
Principles of operational leadership is concerned with assessing organisational culture, reviewing values and ethics. Additionally, a number of comprehensive tools will be introduced to analyse the market place. We will examine leadership skills and styles with critical reflection.
Using reflective practice is concerned with reviewing, analysing and improving individual management and leadership skills and competencies against objectives.
This course will be run over 2 days: 2 workshops of one day duration; after which you will receive at least two hours 1:1 contact with your assigned tutor and ongoing advice and guidance throughout the duration of this course.
You are required to complete 121 TUT to gain the certificate.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is via practical work-based assignments which ensures you take minimum time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to you.

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, participants will normally be either practicing or aspiring middle managers. You will have the opportunity to meet the assessment criteria through your own experiences, and have a background that will enable you to benefit from the programme.
Note, you do not need to be in a senior managerial position in order to undertake this qualification as the units are completed as assignments based on academic research.
