Overview & Modules

Our Level 5 Award in Management and Leadership enables you to strengthen and develop your knowledge of middle management by focusing on specific management areas which are applicable to your job.

You will complete one unit which is the ‘Managing Projects’ unit. The ability to manage projects is a vital skill for all managers. This unit focuses on the knowledge and skills required to manage projects successfully and overcome problems and challenges. It requires you to evaluate the methods and tools for planning tasks and activities, as well as knowing how to implement and manage project activities, build stakeholder relationships, manage resources and risk, monitor progress and report on outcomes

This course includes two workshops of one day duration each. After which you will receive ongoing tutorial advice and guidance. If you are unable to attend the workshops then alternative arrangements can be made i.e. one to one tutorials, distance learning or the programme can be delivered in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is via a practical work-based assignment. This ensures you take minimum time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to you.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, participants will usually be either practicing or aspiring middle managers. You will have the opportunity to meet the assessment criteria through your own experiences, and have a background that will enable you to benefit from the programme.

Note, you do not need to be in a senior managerial position in order to undertake this qualification as the units are completed as assignments based on academic research.

Continue your studies

On successful completion, a number of progression opportunities become available:

  • Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membership
