Beauty Therapy

Our full-time courses enable you to gain hands-on practical skills and underpinning knowledge within our on-site salons. We have highly qualified and specialised lecturers who are active practitioners within their field of expertise.

You will develop your skills and knowledge across a range of beauty therapy treatments with the opportunity to gain additional qualifications throughout the year.

You will have the opportunity to complete additional courses throughout the year. These include lava shell, bamboo massage, hopi ear candling, gelish nails, acrylic nails, spray tanning, intimate waxing, semi-permanent lashes, business knowledge, careers advice and interview techniques.

You will also benefit from 1 day additional workshops with professional beauty therapy companies, at a small cost, to improve your skills and employability.

Modules include:

  • Body massage
  • Hot stone massage
  • Electrical therapy for face and body
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Nail enhancements
  • Advanced nail art
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Working in beauty related industries
  • Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon

You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.

You will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.

Level 2 VRQ or Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

Progress to higher education courses within beauty therapy, holistic therapy or specialist courses.

Opportunity to work in spas, health farms, cruise ships, beauty salons or television and theatre or to be self-employed.
