Basic Vehicle Maintenance

You will study at our state-of-the art STEAM Academy at Pencoed Campus.

  • 5 weeks, 5.30 pm – 8.30 pm

The aim of this course is to enable you to undertake basic vehicle maintenance tasks. The course will be fundamentally based on safe working practices, and allow for the building of skills and confidence.

Note, courses before September 2021 will take place at our Cowbridge Road Campus.

The course will cover:

  • Basic maintenance
  • Basic tools and equipment
  • Safe working methods
  • Preparing your vehicle for the annual MOT test
  • Vehicle checks – weekly, monthly, annually

Ongoing assessment.

You should be an experienced or newly qualified driver of a light vehicles (car). No experience of vehicle maintenance is required, but a positive attitude and the ability to listen and learn new skills is essential.
