This course develops the academic base of vocational skills and provides higher education training for those seeking a career change or development within the animal studies industry.
Overview and modules
You will gain a sound scientific background as part of the course, along with specialised vocational module delivery.
Modules include:
- Animal husbandry
- Principles of animal behaviour
- Principles of animal biology
- Small animal nutrition
- Academic and vocational skills
- Animal health and disease
Assessment methods
You will be assessed through a variety of methods such as practical portfolios, exams, assignments, presentations, reports and case studies.
Entry requirements
- 48 UCAS points (2017 tariff) [2 D’s at A level]
Mature applicants lacking formal entry requirements but with relevant and/or industrial experience will also be considered.
Continue your studies
On successful completion of the HNC, you can top up your qualification by progressing to the HND or go on to work in the industry.
