Diploma for Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Wales and Northern Ireland) Level 3

This Level 3 course is aimed at those wishing to retrain or develop skills to work with babies or young children.

Note, this course may be fully funded via PLA, subject to eligibility.

This course is suitable if you would like to retrain or develop your skills and return to work in one of the following areas, with:

  • Babies or young children (at home as a childminder or nanny) in a children’s centre, nursery or reception class attached to a school or in other early years settings where children are cared for
  • Children or young people in care or leaving care
  • Young offenders or perhaps as a mentor supporting learning and development

Assessment throughout the course.

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, must include English and preferably Mathematics
  • Equivalent qualifications are accepted including CACHE at Level 2

It is recommended by Social Care for Wales that learners who need to have a full qualification in Paediatric First Aid for their job role should undertake the stand alone qualification in paediatric first aid from September 1st 2014 (601/3152/4 Agored Cymru Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.
