This one year intensive acting course supports you through your drama college audition and application journey. You will work with professional directors and actors who will lead you through a focused well structured course which includes audition technique and preparation, contemporary text projects and acting technique sessions. Past students of Bridgend College have successfully gained places and had final recalls at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Central School of Speech and Drama, Arts Ed, LAMDA, RADA, Guildhall, Rose Bruford and GSA.

A studio fee of £250 is added to this course which enables us to invite additional professional directors and practitioners, as well as attend a range of live performances. If you have any financial issues, please don’t let this be a barrier to applying.

This course is designed for those who have completed a Level 3 qualification and are now looking for some professional guidance in order to progress to an industry professional training course.

You will focus on different acting styles and forms. Past performances include Forum Theatre, Contemporary Theatre, Film and Television and devised workshops. You will undertake different disciplines of acting, singing and movement.

Modules may include:

  • Performance workshops
  • Acting auditions
  • Singing for actors
  • Performance skills using acting
  • Principles of acting
  • Developing physical theatre
  • Performing to an audience

You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.

You will be assessed in a variety of ways, which could include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment.

  • 2 A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification, preferably including English and Maths GCSE. Equivalent qualifications are accepted
