AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting

  • 30 weeks, Tuesday & Thursday 6 pm – 9 pm

This qualification will prepare you for junior and entry level accounting roles. It delivers a solid foundation in finance administration – covering areas such as double-entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software.

The AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting includes the following units:

  • Bookkeeping transactions
  • Bookkeeping controls
  • Elements of costing
  • Working effectively in finance
  • Using accounting software

This course includes internal and external assessments. Note, the external assessments are online exams set by the AAT and must be passed in order to gain the qualification (70% pass rate for all external exams).

  • 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths
  • You will attend an interview

Students are expected to demonstrate a professional attitude to study, as well as a strong commitment to passing all assessments to gain the qualification.

Successful completion of the AAT Level 2 will enable you to progress to the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
