Celebrating partnership working at online Annual Awards Ceremony

Bridgend College was extremely proud to have recently held one of its biggest events of the year in an impressive virtual ceremony, which allowed award winners and their guests to celebrate online.

It was an afternoon to celebrate the achievement of students and partners from the 2020-2021 academic year and to recognise everyone who has played a role in their success.

Winner of the Employer Partnership Award, Valleys to Coast, was recognised for their desire to improve the lives of those in our community. The partnership between the College and this company has been in place for several years and joint values and a strong ethical stance makes this organisation a key partner for the future work of the College.

Senior leadership teams from both organisations meet on a bi-monthly basis to share knowledge and agree on a range of work streams which are mutually beneficial to each organisation. This includes a management training programme which focuses on person-centred leadership and has become a flagship programme for both organisations. Recently, Bridgend College was awarded the prestigious HRH Princess Royal Award for its Person-Centred Leadership Programme.

Another project sees a group meet to move the decarbonisation agenda forward and has resulted in several joint bids for regeneration work and sustainable building programmes. The latest venture will see a range of people undergo coaching training so that the College and Valleys to Coast can share resources and help to move people forward.

Joanne Oak, Chief Executive of Valleys to Coast commented on the Annual Awards win:

“We are delighted to have won the Bridgend College Employer Partnership Award. This award recognises our shared values and the strong relationship we have forged with the College on our journey to create safe and happy communities in Bridgend.”

Joanne Oak

Simon Pirotte, Principal and Chief Executive of Bridgend College said:

“Valleys to Coast is a progressive and forward-thinking organisation and I am thrilled that they have received this recognition. In challenging times, strong partnerships are so important to best support the communities we serve.”

Simon Pirotte

Bridgend College would like to congratulate Valleys to Coast once again for their achievements and look forward to working collaboratively with them in the future.
