This year’s tour saw 26 Bridgend College Rugby players and 6 members of staff go on a whirlwind roadtrip taking in the bible belt states of the USA. They covered 1233 miles and took in 6 States in 13 days.

Playing 4 games, winning them all and only having 1 try scored against them.

The tour started in Washington DC, where the sightseeing was spectacular. From there they travelled for one night stay in Johnson City, Tennessee. On the way the team passed the Blue Ridge mountain’s of Virginia and the Shenandoah river.

From there they travelled to Nashville, where the staff stayed in a house 10 houses down from Country & Western Singer Dolly Parton and they happened to be in Nashville at the time of BB King’s funeral.

From there it was on to Birmingham Alabama for one night and some superb barbecue food.

The last stop was New Orleans with great atmosphere, people, food and sightseeing, all went together to make it a spectacular venue. However, the highlight was the night time canoe paddle in the bayou, with real, live ALIGATORS.

What a fantatsic journey and experience had by all!
