We were delighted to host our twentieth Higher Education Awards Ceremony on Saturday 15th October at Pencoed Campus, with almost 200 Higher Education (HE) learners acknowledged across 2 ceremonies.

The morning ceremony included the Foundation Degree Business Studies with one of our learners recognised for achieving the highest marks for the Foundation Degree across the University of South Wales – well done to Bethan Osborne.

The College has delivered higher education courses since 1948 and we are proud to have the highest number of franchise Higher Education learners in any FE college in Wales.

Graduands celebrated with their family and friends with a canapé reception prior to each ceremony, and were conferred by Professor Helen Langton, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University of South Wales and Professor David Brooksbank, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Each ceremony included a musical interlude and our thanks go to John Quirk who accompanied Lloyd Macey and Anwen Angharad Dixon who each performed a solo piece.

The College was delighted to award its 2016 Honorary Fellowships to two individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to Bridgend and the wider community. Our morning ceremony recognised Miss Barbara Wilding, CBE, QPM, CCMI, Hon. D, FRSA for her commitment to the Public Service sector and the local community. Our afternoon ceremony recognised Janice Gregory for her commitment to national politics and services to Wales.
