This dynamic course aims to prepare you to enter university and study a wide range of subjects in the Creative Arts field. You will learn the theory and practical skills as well as being introduced to important aspects of HE study that aids successful progress. The course provides opportunities to develop current knowledge and skills in creative software and to produce a personal portfolio of creative work.
2D: Graphic design, image manipulation, computer illustration, typography, web and app design, personal branding
3D: Storyboarding, wireframes, textures, lighting, rendering, 2D and 3D animation and modelling techniques
Time-Based study: Camera/microphone techniques, studio lighting techniques, shooting video, SFX, keying and video editing
Study skills: Group learning, academic study, research methods, presentation skills
Individual project: Self-directed project, personal or commercial approach, generation and realisation of varied aspects of artwork
Portfolio: Personalised digital or traditional portfolio development, personal branding
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, preferably including English and Maths (equivalent qualifications are accepted, including a Merit at Level 2 or Pass at Level 3)
Mature learners without formal qualifications will need to demonstrate a desire to study creative arts and moving on to higher education

Progress to higher education programmes including Degrees and Foundation Degrees
Freelance work and a career in the creative arts industry
