You will develop practical skills, underpinned with theory sessions in subjects including Learning through Play, Creativity and Child Development.
The main focus is to develop your theoretical knowledge and experience through a work placement within a childcare setting.
There is a keen ethos of skill development, including the development of Welsh Language skills with the opportunity to have some bilingual unit delivery and the option to submit work and be assessed in Welsh.
You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy and digital skills throughout the course.
3 GCSEs at grade D or above (equivalent qualifications are accepted including a Pass at Level 1)
Work placement officers will observe your practice in work placement throughout the course where specific criteria must be met. This will require planning and preparation which will be supported by the knowledge you gain at college.
At College, you will collate portfolios of evidence including written tasks set by course tutors. You will greatly benefit from effective organisation skills.
