Bridgend College learners showed their entrepreneurial skills by winning a hat trick of prizes at the Cardiff City Stadium Thursday 30th March.
Winning 3 awards at the event hosted by Big Idea Wales, Bridgend College learners show-cased their innovative business ideas by bringing them to life for all to see.
Conquer the Impossible, Performing Arts Drama Therapy Group won the Social Impact Award, the plumbing learners (The Party Plumbers) won Best Display Stand and Bridgend College alumni Geraint Robson and Caitlyn Corless won Outstanding Business outside Education Award for their business ‘Ddraig Valley’.
Ruth Rowe, Enterprise Officer at Bridgend College said “It was an absolute privilege to be at the Big Ideas Wales Celebrated event, to see the enthusiasm from our students and also seeing their brilliant business ideas come to life, and most importantly being recognised for it.”
Overall winners and runners up were presented by the Minister for Skills and Science Julie James AM.
We are proud to have received the very rare double ‘excellent’ in our Estyn inspection. This award reflects the dedication, innovation and passion of our learners, staff, governors and partners. We are extremely pleased that the high quality of our performance has been recognised in the awards gifted to the college.
