Lexx Oliver an extremly talented student at Bridgend College won best HE Film at the Learning Onscreen Awards @ BFI Southbank last Thursday.
The ‘Learning on Screen’ awards is the only UK awards celebrating media production in learning, teaching and research, now in its eleventh year.
Each year, broadcasters, production companies, education institutions, museums, publishers, charities, libraries, students and any other organisation or individual producing educational media get the chance to enter Learning on Screen.
Unfortunately the College didn’t win the FE award, but seeing the level of competition on the night, being nominated was still a huge achievement for these students.
Clare Pompa, a lecturer on the Foundation Degree Film and Video course said “The work shown across categories was remarkably polished, coming from independent production companies & some of the highest rated film schools across the UK.”
“It was wonderful to see Bridgend College represented onscreen for 3 nominations.!
Entries are made in a variety of categories, including broadcast programmes, non-broadcast delivery, multimedia content and student productions. This year new student award categories have been introduced to Learning on Screen to celebrate productions from College HE and FE students.
