Equivalent to 3 A Levels, this course is classroom-based along with some units based on outdoor skills. You will have the opportunity to go on trips to North Wales and Normandy. Modules may include: Understanding discipline leadership and teamwork in Public Services, Citizenship, Diversity and the Public Services and Land and Water Navigation.
You will participate in a mixture of classroom-based written work and practical indoor and outdoor activities, along with taking part in outdoor pursuits and adventure training such as rock climbing and caving. Modules may include: the role and work of the Public Service, crime and its effects on society and individuals and preparing to respond to emergency incidents.
This course will give you a strong practical and academic grounding in the organisation, management and operation of the public and emergency services. Progress to the final year of the BA (Hons) Public Services course at the University of South Wales, where your studies will focus on developing your employability skills, giving you an advantage in today’s competitive employment market.
Modules for this course include: Individual Project, Construction Technology, Science and Materials, Construction Practice and Management, Mathematics for Construction, Principles of Heating Services Design & Installation and Principles of Ventilation, Air-conditioning Design and Installation.
